I read the negative reviews here, but purchased it because I am in outsides sales and occasionally the lack of quality LTE means either a onboard map app or a separate device. What stuns me is most of the issues are with the foolish default settings. It comes with auto update turned OFF. To get current maps you have to go to setting, advanced and turn on Map share, then back to setting maps, turn on map sharing, restart, go to setting share update, set it to auto, turn on Wi-Fi and then click check for corrections. Should that not be the default?? Why must I go click check for corrections if I set it to auto?? Then if you want the map to update at a reasonable rate, (not to mention being close to finding you) you need to go to setting, advanced and turn GPS enhanced on. Did you think we paid a premium for an IPhone with its Motion Processors & Augmented GPS because we don’t want to use them??? Also you have turn on data services for most of the features to work, also hidden under advanced. It actually works great, if you spend 30 minutes going through the set up menus to enable all the features. It is as though it pre-sets itself for an IPhone 3 with no cellular service. Other than the ugly cheap tom-tom looking maps, it works great. It would be a great app if came configured to use all the features people expect to get from their IPhone.....not preconfigured in the lowest performing setting possible.
